The MX-5 Sport Black had the distinction of being the first special edition MX-5 that was only offered as a hardtop. Inspired by the Mazda MX-5 GT race car, it went on sale in 2011 with the total run of 500 cars split between 242 in Crystal White, 153 in Velocity Red and just 105 in Spirited Green this one being number 15/500. All cars were two-tone thanks to the Brilliant Black power-retractable hardtop and style bar covers (for when the roof was down). These black accents continued inside the car with a Piano Black steering wheel, dash panel and black leather interior.
